About me

I am Anett Erdész, a certified psychologist, I graduated from the University of Szeged and ELTE Master's program in Clinical and Health Psychology in 2020. In 2021 I was a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Kansas, USA, where I had the opportunity to obtain a Master's degree in Sport and Health Psychology.

My approach emphasizes the connection between body and mind, their inseparable unity. A growing number of us are becoming aware that maintaining a healthy lifestyle requires physical exercise, but our mental health is often neglected. Long-term physical health, in my opinion, depends on conscious mental functioning.

My methods include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) tools, breathing exercises borrowed from sports psychology, visualization, and relaxation techniques. I also believe in a person-centered perspective and approach my clients with unconditional acceptance, a non-judgmental attitude, and empathy.

It is important to me that my clients develop at their own pace. Overcoming resistance to change and development is a step-by-step process. In addition to my methods listed above, I believe that real change comes from the right psychologist-client relationship. Research supports that positive change is primarily the result of rapport (a trusting therapeutic relationship) rather than the methods used by the therapist (e.g. Leach, 2002; Pashak & Heron, 2022).
